Gauteng police spokesperson Captain Mofokeng has confirmed that police have opened a case of suicide after discovering the body of a man in an underground parking lot on Grayston Drive.
Mofokeng added that the incident must have occurred between 8 and 9am on the morning of the 5th. The deceased’s family has been notified.
UPDATE: 5 May, 3pm
At around 9am this morning, Netcare 911 issued a report stating that paramedics arrived on a scene in Sandton to discover that a man had allegedly shot himself in the underground parking lot of a company building on Grayston drive.
Athlenda Mathe, media liaison officer for Netcare 911 stated that when paramedics arrived, they found the man seated in the driver’s seat of his car with a gunshot wound.
Paramedics attempted to resuscitate him but, unfortunately, he succumbed to his injuries and was declared dead on the scene.
