Man stabbed with butcher knife

MARLBORO - A man was stabbed in the abdomen in Marlboro.

Warrant Officer Moses Maphakela, spokesperson for the Bramley police said the 23-year-old man was at his place of residence when he heard screams outside.

“He recognised his wife’s voice and went outside,” said Maphakela. “He saw his wife arguing with another woman and told her [his wife] to go inside the house.”

Maphakela said the other woman took out a butcher’s knife and stabbed the man.

“He became numb and bled non-stop,” said Maphakela. He said the man was taken to hospital where he was admitted, treated for his stab wounds and later discharged.

The woman was arrested by the Bramley police, detained at the police station and charged with assault with the intent to cause grievous bodily harm.

She will appear in court soon.
