Now here’s a great new spot for sundowners

Then we were handed a glass of bubbly and we thought, wow, we’ve really hit the jackpot! We highly recommend that you too take the journey up this Joburg landmark and pay a visit to the new, seriously classy, boutique hotel, The Northcliff, and try the Kranz restaurant. It’s an exceptional spot for sundowners – from the grand windows in the intimate restaurant, you’ll take in the view that stretches from our northern suburbs right the way through to the Magaliesberg – wow! Opt to enjoy your pre-dinner drinks (the wine list is very diverse and there are cocktails too) on the pool deck – we did and it was magical. When you start to feel a little peckish, you’ll be spoilt for choice by the three-course menu. Seafood fans, we can vouch for the butter poached prawn with chimichurri, coconut rice ball and sweet potato as a starter – yum! And our sweet tooth swooned at the delicious malva pudding with tonka bean ice cream and a rooibos glaze – worth every straight-to-the hips calorie!
