Joburg's food and entertainment scene has just become world-class with the opening of the magnificent, ever-so enchanting Alice & Fifth in Sandton.
Quite frankly, it may just be the most magnificent restaurant we’ve ever stepped foot into, even on a global scale. Enter into a magical world of food, live entertainment, awe-inspiring design and seriously moreish cocktails … a great escape. Upon entering we were greeted by friendly hostesses who led us through a dazzling passageway, down into the restaurant. Adorned in marble, mirrors, velvet, (faux) furs and intricate design elements, the seating area is sure to take your breath away … it certainly caught us off guard! After we were seated, we were handed our menus . story books that came to life and revealed a fantasy world of cocktails, wine and food options, never before seen. Seriously magical. The evening was spent sipping on award-winning Malbec and seriously delish cocktails, while indulging in a host of tapas, juicy oxtail and steak for mains and lemon tart for dessert. Oh-so decadent. All of this whilst watching dancers, contortionists and entertainers float around on stage and in-between the tables . what an experience! P.S for all the jazz-lovers amongst us, on Wednesday evenings the restaurant plays host to world-class jazz musicians . yes, please!
