Bringing the community out for a run

SANDTON – The Sandton CPF brought the community together for a run to raise funds and fight crime.

The Sandton Community Police Forum (CPF) brought local residents together for a special fun run at Wendywood High School.

Many got up on a cold morning to take part in the event to raise funds for the forum.

Chairperson of the Sandton CPF, Anthony Modena, said the day was not only a fantastic way to raise funds for the forum, but also was a means to bring the community together with a common goal while having fun in the process.

Modena added, “We had a fantastic turnout on the day with quite a number of new faces which is amazing.”

Sector 2 chairperson, Rob Cumming said, “The event is extremely vital to get everyone out and getting the community on the streets.”

Modena said the event raised much-needed funds to help the Sandton CPF with its various operations including the Victim Empowerment Programme and bring in newer technologies to help fight crime.
