Montecasino hosts Franschhoek Food & Wine Festival
MONTECASINO – Bringing the exciting restaurant and wine culture of Franschhoek to Johannesburg, the highly-anticipated Franschhoek Food & Wine Festival is set to hit Montecasino in August.

The festival, which was formally launched for the first time at Montecasino on 30 July, will see unique tastes and wine from the famed culinary capital of the Western Cape come alive.
Miguel Chan, head sommelier at Tsogo Sun, expressed excitement at hosting the festival at the casino this year. “The festival will showcase some of the top wineries from Franschhoek and we are very excited to expose the Johannesburg crowd to these unique brands,” he said.
Adding to this excitement was Paul Edmunds, director at Taste Festivals and co-organiser of the festival, who explained that hosting the festival was a way of creating something different and bringing the best of the Cape to Johannesburg. Edmunds urged residents to come experience the tastes of Franschhoek and promised a unique experience for everyone.
“Franschhoek is known as the culinary capital of the Cape and we look forward to bringing the capital to Monte,” he said.
The festival, put together by Montecasino and Taste Festival, will run from 28 August to 30 August at the Outdoor events area.
