JOHANNESBURG – It’s finally the weekend and there’s a lot to get up to!
- The Backyard Pop-Up Bar will host a number of goodies … from concept cocktails to gourmet food, coffee and live music – it’s a treat for all the senses. And it’s all thanks to a clever collaboration between Molecular Bars, Prep’ed by Sasha and Mikasa Creative. It’s happening on 5 June, 6pm to 11pm at 16 High Road, corner of Corlett Drive.

- The Tin Factory Market launch is set to keep shoppers occupied this weekend as they stock up on goodies from some of South Africa’s finest artisans. There will be gourmet food, fashion and live entertainment from Joshua Kempen, Ruby Gill and Broken Records. It’s happening from 6 to 7 June, 9am to 5pm at 2 Archimedes Street, Kramerville.
- The DStv Delicious International Food and Wine Festival is a must-visit for food fans! Celebrity MasterChef South Africa judge Pete Goffe-Wood, Reza Mahammad and Siba and Jenny Morris will all be in attendance, as well as live entertainment from jazz-funk band Shakatak. It’s happening from 6 to 7 June at the Huddle Recreation Park, Linksfield. Tickets from R450.
- The Gauteng Opera will perform its first full-length opera in concert, Giuseppe Verdi’s La Traviata at Wits Theatre on 6 June. CLICK HERE FOR MORE DETAILS
- Get stretchy at an early morning Yoga Works yoga session at the Joburg Art Gallery. There will be 75 minutes of slow Vinyasa Flow followed by an optional tour of the arts in the gallery. And it’ll only cost you R100, part of which will go to the gallery for their renovation project. It’s all happening on 6 June at 9am. - Vinyl’s back baby! And with it comes the Vinyl Fair where you can stock up on vintage LPs and new hot tracks. And they’ve got a new addition called the Milk Bar, where you can indulge in delicious coffee and baked goods to ward off the chills. Amatuli Artefacts will be there and Fresh will be serving bacon rolls. It’s all happening on 7 June from 10am at Katy’s Palace Bar, 6 Desmond Street, Kramerville.
