Relentless laughs
SANDTON - Local funnymen Deep Fried Man, Warren Robertson and Chris Forest will bring their highly acclaimed three-man show Funnier than Them to Sandton.

The show is set to add a difference in the local comedy scene with a lighter and more intimate setting to bring the audience closer to the laughs, as opposed to the large crowd pulled at festivals such as Blacks Only and Mass Hysteria.
“The main point behind the concept of the show is allow the audience to be able to see comedians who perform in bigger venues and festivals up close. And being able to experience the humour up close in a very small and intimate venue,” said Warren Robertson.
The title of the show, Funnier than Them, is a reference, as Chris Forest said, to the politics that linger within the South African comedy scene. And unlike one man shows, the ensemble cast gives the audience the opportunity to experience the performer’s strongest material, which is all held together by their own hard work.
The show is a flurry of multi-faceted humour presented by the three comedians and their “anti-MC Gerry D’ Attric whom they describe as offensive and a parody of the typical old bitter 1990’s comedian whose belligerent humour holds the show together.
“It is an hour and a half of just relentless jokes,” said Robertson.
After successful runs at the Grahamstown National Arts Festival and the Fugard Theatre in Cape Town, Johannesburg audiences will be treated to the show at the Auto and General Theatre on the Square from 21 to 26 October.
