A hat-trick of duathlons

BRYANSTON – Brescia House sports coach Glenn Macnamara has won three duathlons despite a seven-month break.

Newly appointed sports coach at Brescia House, Glenn Macnamara has recently achieved an admirable set of personal results in duathlons.

Glenn is a top duathlete and triathlete who has logged many years of local and international racing experience.

Duathlon is a tough multisport consisting of running and cycling. Macnamara spent a portion of last year in New Zealand before deciding to return home to South Africa.

He started competing again in November last year after almost seven months without competition. He was very surprised to win his first race when he was the first athlete across the line at a duathlon held at Germiston Lake.

A month later, he won another duathlon held at Buffelspoort Dam.

In January this year, he finished third in Germiston and more recently, he won his third duathlon in four races at an event outside Pretoria.
