RIVONIA – The Rivonia Table Tennis Club based at the Rivonia Recreation Centre successfully hosted the 2015 Gauteng Central Table Tennis Open Championships.
RISING CHAMP: Yukail Naidoo, winner of the boys' singles U13 and U15 2015 Gauteng Central Table Tennis Open Championships and runner-up for the U18 title, with Glynnis Glover, chair and secretary of the Rivonia Table Tennis Club.
The event attracted the highest level of skilled table tennis players from Gauteng and other provinces.
Hot favourite in the senior event, Osuji Chijioke of Maccabi Linksfield Table Tennis Club, won the senior title playing against Chethan Nathoo of Westdene’s Anchors Table Tennis Club in five brilliant sets of table tennis.
In the junior girls entries, 12-year-old Kaira Naidoo from KwaZulu-Natal showed off her talent winning the junior U13, U15 and U18 titles.
Yukail Naidoo (13) won the junior boys U13 and U15 titles and was runner-up to Shakeel Edwards in the boys U18 group.
