Boks receive official send-off

MONTECASINO - The South African Springbok rugby team was given an official send-off by crowds of supporters at Montecasino on 11 September.

The special event was filled with government officials and entertainment was provided by top SA music acts including Lloyd Cele, PJ Powers and HHP (Hip Hop Pantsula) as part of a spectacular ‘good bye’ event that was televised live by SuperSport.

The 30 teammates, as well as Springbok management, spent an hour-and-a-half saying their farewells before heading straight to OR Tambo International Airport to catch an overnight flight to London.

The team will compete in the 2015 Rugby World Cup in the United Kingdom. Their first match is against Japan.
