Soccer is alive at St David’s Marist Inanda

INANDA – St David’s Marist Inanda U19 soccer boys celebrated after winning the 2015 Challenge Cup soccer tournament.

Carey Fisher-Gietzman, the school’s marketing liaison, said the school hosted the tournament annually and invited other schools from all over Johannesburg to participate.

“The tournament basically reaffirms that soccer is still alive and well in high schools, especially private schools,” said Fisher-Gietzman.

She said there was a misconception that private schools were not doing much to grow the culture of soccer, and St David’s Marist Inanda wanted to change that view by incorporating a number of schools in their annual tournament.
