LISTEN: Former St Stithians College pupil to play for Proteas in Bangladesh

SANDTON - Former St Stithians College pupil and emerging fast bowler, Kagiso Rabada, is eager to prove himself in the South African cricket team as they head off to Bangladesh.

Rabada, who matriculated in 2013, plays for the bizhub Highveld Lions and was recently selected for the Proteas squad. He made his mark during the ICC U19 World Cup last year and was the second-best bowler in the tournament with the most wickets. Rabada also claimed the best figures of the tournament with 6/25 against Australia, which led to him being one of the most feared bowlers.

Speaking at the Proteas new sponsorship unveiling before they left on Monday, Rabada said he is looking forward to the series in Bangladesh and hopes to establish himself as a regular on the team.

“It’s always great to represent your country, but it’s not going to be easy by any means. Bangladesh is playing some great cricket at the moment, but we want to win this series convincingly. The team is doing well and it would be nice to contribute with a few good performances,” said Rabada.
