SANDTON - Resident, Jane Swarbreck did her community proud following her stellar Dusi performance.

The River Club resident was the first Gauteng women finisher at this year’s gruelling 120km canoe marathon from Pietermaritzburg to Durban.

According to Jennie Dallas, public relations officer of Gauteng Canoe Union Public Relations, Swarbreck gave a strong performance which saw her finish in the top 10.

“Day one saw Swarbreck placed fourth as a result of her strong running ability, however overall after the three days Jane finished up as sixth lady paddler and 132nd single canoeist (K1), in a time of 10 hours 46 minutes,” Dallas said.

Meanwhile, another Sandton resident, Alex Roberts finished in the top 50.
