Dusi on the Juksei
JOBURG - Experienced canoeist and Sandton resident Jonathan Thompson took part in the Eurosteel Dusi seeding race on the Jukskei River.
The race was organised by the Emmarentia-based Dabulamanzi Canoe Club.
Paddling from Lanseria Airport through the Jukskei River valley to Hartbeespoort Dam, the two-day race challenged all the canoeists.
Thompson came second in the Masters category in just over five and a half hours.
Multiple Dusi winner Andy Birkett won the men’s race with Sbonelo Khwela securing second and Lance Kime in third.
