Weekend league matches postponed

JOBURG - The Premier Soccer League has taken a decision to postpone all its weekend matches in solidarity with Orlando Pirates following the death of their goal minder, Senzo Meyiwa.

A decision was taken to postpone all Absa Premiership and National First Division fixtures scheduled for this weekend. This was done following discussions between the league, title sponsors Absa, broadcast partners, and other relevant stakeholders.

Meyiwa, who was shot dead at his girlfriend Kelly Khumalo’s parental home in Spruitview, Vosloorus, on 26 October in what is suspected to have been a botched armed robbery, will be buried at his home town of uMlazi in Durban on 1 November. The funeral service will be held at the Moses Mabhida Stadium.
