Epic duo ride for FreeMe
PAULSHOF- PETER Ransome and Trevor D'Oliveira are two cyclists who are preparing to make an epic ride for wildlife conservation and rehabilitation.
Ransome and D’Oliveira are well into their preparations to take on this year’s Absa Cape Epic which will be held from 23 to 30 March.
This is the first time that either of these cyclists will be participating in the world-renowned event which poses huge physical and mental challenges.
Ransome and D’Oliveira have decided to use their ride as an opportunity to raise funds for charities that are close to their hearts.
The duo have chosen FreeMe wildlife rehabilitation centre as one of their two main beneficiaries of their charity drive. FreeMe, which is based in Paulshof admits more than 10 000 animals for care in a year and is one of Africa’s leading wildlife rehabilitation centres.
The centre receives no formal funding and relies on generous donors and sponsors to remain sustainable.
Ransome and D’Oliveira will also proudly display the FreeMe falcon logo on their cycling tops during the ride to raise awareness of the organisation.
Anyone wishing to donate money to or sponsor Ransome and D’Oliveira please contact Sue Ransome on sueransome@telkomsa.net or donate directly to FreeMe by SMSing ‘FREEME’ to 38079 to donate R10 or by adding FreeMe as a beneficiary on your MySchool card.
