Post problems in Bryanston continue

Lizzy writes with regards to the ongoing saga of postal deliveries at Sloane Park:

We have had a postbox at Sloane Park for 28 years. At the end of November, the postboxes were removed due to the construction of the new post office.

I received no notification about where to collect post or what was going on. Last week, a friend who has a postbox in Bryanston told me that the postboxes were [situated] in the parking lot at Sloane Square and that mail could be collected there.

I duly went to collect my mail only to be told that the mail from the Sloane Park postboxes was in Rivonia. What sort of backward logic puts up postboxes at Sloane Square to handle the post from the main Bryanston post office, but sends the mail from the Sloane Park postboxes to Rivonia?

Why did they not put the Sloane Park postboxes in the parking lot at Sloane Square?

I have still not received any post, despite two visits to the temporary postboxes at Sloane Square, and I have no idea where my post is. Thank goodness utility bills and bank statements can be received electronically. I have family overseas and would like to, at least, receive my Christmas cards.

I took note of the numbers displayed on the new post office doors but have not been able to get hold of anyone, even on the cellphone numbers.

The post office is a disgrace.
