I am responding to the letter written by Patrick Mphuthi, Africa must return to Africans, week ending 14 March.
It is with mixed emotions of sadness, disappointment and confusion that I reply to your letter.
I have lived in South Africa together with my white parents and white children all our lives.
We are just as much an ‘African’ as you are and have just as many rights as you have. The only difference is we don’t make excuses like you do. The
Jews have been persecuted throughout history, yet they have made their mark on earth by sheer hard work and determination – not excuses and expecting handouts. You think Zimbabwe is such a success story. Have u been there? Starving people, corrupt government and farms that were once the bread basket of Africa are now unproductive.
Wake up and smell the roses. Change has been here for many years and still you are not happy. You will never be happy because you are looking
for excuses that don’t exist.
