Man attacks woman on sidewalk

I want to share my ordeal with everybody who walks or drives along Grosvenor Avenue over the N1 freeway and past the New Life church.

I was walking there at 6am when this short guy came out of the blue and tried to snatch my bag. I couldn’t let my bag go so easily, so I gave a fight and we struggled.  I screamed. He wanted to take out something from his trouser pocket (a weapon maybe) but I ran to the middle of the road. He saw the lights of the oncoming traffic and gave up, cursed and disappeared in the bushes.

From the point of view I think it’s one of the vagrants who live by the river near the Douglasdale retirement village side. I live in a complex nearby and sometimes at night we hear gunshots.

I often meet people running/walking in the area so I just want to let them know that they should be careful.
