Covid-19: Measures put by mediclinic to ensure patients’ safety
MORNINGSIDE – Mediclinic has put measures to help flatten the pandemic curve. The measures will take effect on 1 April to ensure patients' safety within their hospital.

During the lockdown medical institutions have to adjust to the changes brought about by the Covid-19 pandemic.
Mediclinic is conscious of the evolving Covid-19 pandemic and in an effort to ensure that they are managing the risk to their patients and staff, they have made a decision to temporarily withdraw visiting hours.
As visiting hours are important to their patients’ recovery, they believe that this is currently an important decision they have made.
The measures taken will take effect from 1 April and there will be exceptions to the visitor procedures. Only one parent will be allowed to visit at a time in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit. Only one parent may live with the child in the paediatric unit and the father/parent may visit the maternity unit. Visits to critically ill patients can be arranged with hospital management.
As per national requirements, these measures are in line with the World Health Organisation as well as the National Institute of Communicable Disease. This is a way to help flatten the pandemic curve and ensure the safety of everyone.
Mediclinic would like to emphasise that everyone within the health care sector was working together to fight the pandemic.
They encourage communities to adhere to the lockdown and distancing efforts and to observe all measures put in place within the hospital to ensure the safety of their patients.
