WARNING: Severe thunderstorms to hit Gauteng this afternoon, 25 February
GAUTENG – The South African Weather Service has issued a warning about a severe thunderstorm that is to hit Gauteng today.
Extreme thunderstorms are expected in Gauteng this afternoon until about 9pm.
Potential threats are said to include hail, damaging winds and heavy rain. Gauteng Weather on Twitter (@tWeatherSA) advised residents to call the following emergency numbers:
- 112 is free from any mobile phone
- 10111 for the South African Police
- 10177 for an ambulance or fire department
