This Saturday, 20 January, the City of Joburg will undertake the first clean-up for the year.
This is part of the City’s #AreSebetseng campaign in which residents have the opportunity to participate and get their hands dirty in making Johannesburg work.
Executive Mayor of the City of Joburg Herman Mashaba, said the purpose of #AreSebetseng is to raise awareness whilst educating and encouraging residents to manage waste effectively and to take care of their environment.
Residents are encouraged to bring their own hard brooms, spades or rakes to whichever clean-up they are joining.
