WATCH: Hijacker bites woman’s fingers

BRYANSTON – Two women were hijacked and robbed of their possessions outside a complex in Bryanston at 1.30pm on 31 August.

Two women were driving together to visit a friend in the complex and stopped at the gate when a black BMW pulled up behind them and two men brandishing guns jumped out of the car.
Janet Isaac, who was driving a Range Rover, said, “The guard was taking some time to open the gate and the men came with guns trying to get us out the car. They robbed us of everything. There were four men in the car but only two got out. I would guess they stole possessions worth R200 000.”

She said that the men took all the rings from her fingers and even bit her to remove the jewellery. She received medical attention and stitches on her hand following the incident.
“They must have been following us. I picked my friend up and we travelled along Grosvenor Road and into St Audley and then into Bantry Road,” said Isaac.

The men took the Range Rover with the registration number of 100 JPR GP and left. She said that police and investigators arrived promptly at the scene and security at the complex was able to supply video footage of the incident.

According to eBlockwatch founder, André Snyman, the hijacking was tracked by his newly launched app, the BackApp.

Police could not be reached for comment at the time of publication.
