The St Stithians Girls’ College water polo first team ended their most successful season to date by winning the Reef Cup 2017.
Their victory saw them beat local rivals St Mary’s 7–4 in the final.
This is their sixth gold medal since August last year and the team now holds every major girls’ schools water polo title in South Africa except being named as champions of the Old Petrian’s water polo tournament.
The girls are ranked number one in both the SA schools sports and Mycomlink national rankings.

Master-in-charge of water polo and first water polo team coach at the girls’ college, Pierre le Roux said, “The girls have put in an incredible amount of effort this season. We set ourselves some high goals early in the season and a lot of sacrifice was made to try and achieve them all. I am incredibly proud of what these girls have already achieved but I do believe the best is still to come.”
