No action taken by police

SANDTON – An unhappy resident has questioned the 16 Days of Activism campaign after the police failed to assist her in a harassment case.

 

Leverne Bailey writes:

I just read an article in the Sandton Chronicle (Week ending 9 December) about the Sandton Police Station’s 16 Days of Activism awareness campaign.

Yet, when I went to the police station in May this year to seek assistance from someone who I don’t even know who is stalking and harassing me, making my life hell at work and at home, the policewoman told me that they could not assist me and I should go to court.

It is no wonder that so many people take the law into their own hands.

I am not disgruntled at the newspaper, but I wonder why the police are campaigning when they have no interest to serve and protect?
