There will be water interruptions in Sandown, Kelvin and surrounding Sandton areas on 22 and 23 June.
Spokesperson for Johannesburg Water, Eleanor Mavimbela, said the utility would implement planned service interruptions for maintenance in the Sandown and Kelvin areas. A few surrounding areas will also be affected by the water interruptions.
Kelvin and surrounding areas which include Woodlands, Wendywood, all Woodmead extensions, Gallo Manor, Morningside Manor, Marlboro North and Wynberg will have interruptions on 22 June from 7am to 5pm due to an upgrade in reticulation. The restoration will occur between 5pm and 8pm.
Sandown will experience water interruptions on 22 and 23 June from 9am to 3.30pm. On both days, restoration will take place from 3.30pm to 5pm.
On 22 June, West Street between Rivonia and Wierda roads, and Rivonia Road between Pretoria Avenue and West Street will be affected.
On 23 June, Fredman Drive between West Street and Gwen Lane will be affected.
Mavimbela reminded residents that Level 2 water restrictions were still in place and residents should adhere to them. The restrictions stipulate that residents must not water or irrigate their gardens between 8am and 4pm every day. Residents cannot fill their swimming pools with municipal water or use hosepipes to wash their cars or paved areas.
