Morningside hosts Yoga Stops Traffick
MORNINGSIDE – Morningside Shopping Centre hosted a successful Yoga Stops Traffick event on 5 March.

The centre invited members of the community to practise well-needed relaxation and exercise techniques while using the day to raise awareness about human trafficking. The proceeds from the event went to the Odanadi Seva Trust.
The trust is a non-governmental organisation based in Mysore in India which seeks to fight the societal plight of sexual violence. The organisation raises awareness to educate people about the horrors of sexual violence while also giving treatment to victims.
The funds raised from the Yoga Stops Traffick go towards rehabilitating the victims of human trafficking, exploitation and abuse, and educating and empowering vulnerable communities.
Attendees brought their yoga mats and joined in 108 led sun salutations.
Spokesperson for the centre, Anne Lovell said, “Morningside Shopping Centre is very pleased to have supported such a wonderful cause, and thanks all participants for making this event a success.”
