The arrests were for various offences such as theft, fraud, kidnapping and robbery.
According to Warrant Officer Moses Maphakela, spokesperson for the Sandton police, one suspect was arrested for kidnapping and robbery while four more were arrested for theft.
“The police also arrested three suspects for carjacking, five more for fraud and one for malicious damage to property,” he said.
Another three suspects were apprehended by the police for the possession of suspected stolen goods while three were held for assault with intent to do grievous bodily harm.
Maphakela confirmed that the suspects were detained at the Sandton Police Station and have made an appearance in court with relation to the various offences.
