This year’s event, which was sponsored by Herbert Evans Art Shop, was themed, the power of education. Pupils from various schools around Gauteng proudly showcased their impressive artworks which were created on pavements. The winning piece titled, Standards, was won by pupils of St John’s College in Houghton.
Before the competition, Grade 10 art pupils from different schools were divided into teams and brainstormed an idea and their choice of colours for their artwork. On the day of the competition, all those participating had three hours to complete their works of pavement art.
