Mrs SA finalist urges kiddies to recycle

MORNINGSIDE – Children at Smiley Kids Sandton, a Morningside-based preschool, were recently treated to a presentation highlighting the importance of recycling.

The presentation was given by Mrs South Africa finalist, Rene Roberts-Patel, who made the visit to the school in a bid to raise awareness during recycling week.

“The Mrs SA pageant recently partnered with packaging and recycling company, Mpact, and as a part of that, we were required to raise awareness within the community on the importance of recycling,” she said.

She said it should not just be something that people do on occasion, but rather on a continuous basis. Furthermore, she stressed the importance of getting everyone involved, saying that even the smallest contribution could go a long way in reducing waste.

The visit to the pre-school took place on 17 September and also saw kiddies receive green bags to encourage recycling at home.
