Jewish union joins the fight against trafficking
SANDTON - The Union of Jewish women has joined the fight against human trafficking and the devastating effect it has.

The non-profit organisation based in Houghton, joined forces with A21 to help raise awareness about the rise of the trade in the country.
A21 is a non-governmental organisation dedicated to abolishing human trafficking through its prevention campaign.
Lynne Raphaely, national president of the Union of Jewish Women said, “Trafficking is a system based on greed, control and power, and it affects men, women and children who are trafficked within their own countries and across international borders, on every continent and in every country.”
She added that trafficking robbed victims of their dignity and identity and violated their human rights.
“By joining forces with A21, [we commit ourselves] to try to help remove the scourge of human trafficking from South Africa and from our neighbouring countries,” she said.
Raphaely paid tribute to A21 for its efforts in educating potential victims of human trafficking, in schools, orphanages and universities,
