Mother and daughter robbed in home

BUCCLEUCH – A mother and daughter were recently robbed by two suspects in their home in Buccleuch.

Lieutenant Colonel Andre de Klerk from Sandton Police Station said the suspects gained entry into the premises by lifting the security gate and kicking the front door open.

“The daughter ran upstairs to the room where her mother was and locked the door after she heard a noise,” explained De Klerk.

He said the suspects entered the house and kicked down the door of the room the mother and daughter were in.

“No weapons were seen or used during the robbery and the victims were not injured,” added De Klerk.

He said the suspects took two TV screens, a DVD player, a handbag with an Apple iPad and Notebook worth R17 000.

“The two suspects were dressed in khaki pants, one was tall and the other was short and they spoke in English,” he said.

No arrests have been made as yet, but investigations are underway.
