First day on the job for homeless man

SANDTON - Homeless man who was on the streets with his matric certificate with the hope of finding a job started his first day on the job on 6 July.

 

Joseph Phukube (22) who was noticed by Sandton resident Pam Green will be working at a call centre, Locomute, a company based in Centurion.

“He was very excited but nervous,” explained Green. “I was just with him last night.” She said Phukube’s concerns were more on what he would wear, how will he get there and whether he’s make it on time. “He was worried about the little things we take for granted,” added Green.

She said the company was a good place for Phukube to work at. “Thank you for everyone’s support and making the story go viral,” said Green. “I’ve been able to help more people since Joseph. It is good to be aware of how you can help others.”
