Deutsche Internationale Schulle pupil goes the extra mile for Epilepsy Week

JOHANNESBURG - IN LIGHT of National Epilepsy week in June in South Africa, Deutsche Internationale Schulle Johannesburg pupil, Maximilian van Heerden, went the extra mile in support of the illness and raised awareness in the school.

On 12 June, Van Heerden organised a fun raffle at the school and encouraged his whole school to wear their purple epilepsy wristbands and raise their fists in the air while playing Michael Jackson’s song Just beat it in a school assembly in support of those suffering from the neurological disorder. The proceeds of the raffle went to Reea Epileptic Care Centre, a local epilepsy centre in Craighall Park.

Van Heerden encouraged a group of pupils to go to the care centre on 15 June and involve themselves in community service.
