“They dug a huge hole, causing a large crack in my wall, but did not manage to attend to the water leak,” said a disgruntled Amanda Murray.
“They dug out the pavement and just filled the hole with sand.”
She said the Joburg Water team promised her that further investigation of the leak would take place, but nothing happened.
“The Joburg water representative came to have a look and he promised me he would do his utmost for me the next day and nothing further transpired,” explained Murray.

“After they put the sand on top of the water in the hole, they removed the tape around the hole as if the job was done, and left. Now there is water mixed with the sand and it is a big mess. They actually do not care.”
Millicent Kabwe, spokesperson for Joburg Water, said the regional manager has been alerted and will look into the matter.
