‘Please replace the manhole cover’
PARKMORE - A concerned resident wants the manhole cover at the corner of Fifth Street and Lillian Avenue in Parkmore to be replaced.
The resident, Harry Sewlall, said the manhole cover has been missing since last year and a yellow plastic barricade is being used in its place. He added that a number of manhole covers in Parkmore had been removed.
“All the missing covers were replaced within a month or so except for the one two doors away from my place,” explained Sewlall. “First, someone placed a drum with a red and white tape over this deep opening. A few months later, the drum was removed and replaced with the yellow rampart.”
No comment was received from the Johannesburg Roads Agency by the time of publication.
