Suspect arrested for business burglary in Wynberg

WYNBERG - An alleged suspect was arrested after a business was burgled in Wynberg on 8 April.

Warrant Officer Moses Maphakela, spokesperson for the Bramley police, said the business owner was the last one out of the building on the day of the burglary incident. “The windows and doors were closed and locked properly before he left to go home,” explained Maphakela.

He said the owner was contacted at his place of residence by the security company, informing him that there had been a break-in at his business.

“The burglar proof fence had been broken into as well as the window,” said Maphakela. He added that an electrical wire worth R3 000 was missing and the damages to the premises was about R2 500.

He said through investigation, the police managed to find a suspect in possession of a wire that resembled the reported stolen wire. The alleged suspect was detained at the Bramley Police Station and is expected to appear in court soon.
