Mandela turns blue

JOBURG - It is World Autism month with World Autism Awareness Day falling on 2 April, and Nelson Mandela has turned blue.

Centre management at Sandton City have lit up the famous statue of Nelson Mandela in blue, to show their awareness and acceptance of the condition that is affecting more babies every year.

Autism affects the development of a child and appears in children from six months old, and usually shows signs in children before they turn three.

Management at Sandton City was unavailable for comment.
