This follows housebreaking incidents in Sandhurst between 24 and 25 March where two houses were broken into at night.
According to Warrant Officer Moses Maphakela, spokesperson for the Bramley police, approximately two suspects managed to gain entry into the houses and make off with valuables. “These suspects jumped from one house to the next and managed to make off with laptops, a TV set and a computer from these two homes,” he said.
Maphakela confirmed that the area was facing a problem with housebreaking and theft, and urged residents to ensure that their windows are closed and the alarms are activated before going to sleep. He also urged residents to follow up on suspicious sounds and press their panic buttons to alert authorities about suspicious activities in the area.
“Residents must also check that their security companies are indeed attending the security police forums, which take place every Wednesday at Bramley Police Station,” he said.
No arrests have been made at this stage and the police have asked that residents assist them with apprehending the suspects.
