InstaCook competition winner announced
BRYANSTON - With over 3 000 entries received, one lucky customer was finally announced the winner at the inaugural Pick n Pay InstaCook competition.

The winners in the 10 categories and the overall winner were announced at a lunch at Pick n Pay on Nicol on 18 March.
Samantha Setlogelo was announced as the overall winner of the competition, and also won in her selected category. She won a complete kitchen makeover.
Setlogelo expressed shock and joy at being named the winner of the competition.
“I didn’t expect this at all because we were judged on so many technical things during the competition but, needless to say, I am happy I won,” she said.
Adding to the excitement was Georgina Muirhead, digital marketing manager for Pick n Pay, who said seeing Setlogelo win was rewarding because she had been an incredible contestant.
Muirhead also praised the competition, saying it had inspired much engagement with the public.
She also explained the reason behind launching the interactive competition for customers.
“The competition started this year in January when we realised how many of our customers enjoyed uploading pictures of the food they had prepared on social media,” she explained.
She added that the response had been overwhelming thus far and allowed customers to engage with the company.
The InstaCook competition required entrants to create a dish using a recipe from the Pick n Pay website or Fresh Living magazine, style it, take a picture of it and upload it into one of 10 categories on the InstaCook website.
The 50 most popular dishes were determined by a public voting system and from there, the judges selected the top 20 dishes based on innovation and overall presentation.
