Can’t see the lights for the trees

MARLBORO - A resident has expressed frustration at the slow pace that City of Johannesburg entities take to respond to complaints.

This follows the resident’s complaint to the city council about trees obscuring traffic lights at the intersection of Marlboro and Zinnia drives in Marlboro. He said he lodged the complaint more than two months.

The resident, who wished to remain anonymous, said his complaint was ignored by authorities until he sent an email to all of the city council’s entities.

“It was only then that someone responded to my complaint, ” he said. “I find it frustrating that the city council does nothing to deal with complaints lodged by residents.”

Johannesburg City Parks and Zoo spokesperson, Jenny Moodley, confirmed that the entity was aware of the situation and had since removed the trees.
