Charges dropped for Senzo Meyiwa murder suspect

JOBURG - Charges against Senzo Meyiwa’s suspected killer have been dropped due to insufficient evidence.

According to the Boksburg Advertiser, charges have been withdrawn against Zanokuhle Mbatha, the man implicated in the murder of the Bafana Bafana captain. The charges were dropped due to the lack of evidence.

Mbatha appeared in the Boksburg Magistrate’s Court on 11 November.

The late Meyiwa, a former Buccleuch resident who was also the captain of soccer team Orlando Pirates was shot and killed at his girlfriend’s home in Vosloorus, on 26 October.
