Buccleuch celebrates Senzo

BUCCLEUCH - The residents of Buccleuch gathered at the Christian Foundation Fellowship Church at the Bridge Shopping Centre on 29 October to pay tribute to the life of former Orlando Pirates and National team captain Senzo Meyiwa.

Mncedi Qata and Morrison Gift... Qata said, "His death is really hard as an Orlando Pirates and National team supporter. He was a great role model."

From Orlando Pirates supporters to acquaintances, all in attendance expressed their complete devastation surrounding the passing of Meyiwa.

Representative of the Buccleuch Residents and Rate-payers Association Tebogo Sithathu said, “On behalf of the Buccleuch residents we would like to thank Senzo for [being] a constant inspiration.”

Emeka and Erynne Ike… Emeka said, “It’s a devastating loss. I was his neighbour and he was an extremely friendly guy. Every time I greeted him he would wave back with a smile.”

Sizwe Balele… We are all really sad by the loss. He was one of those guys that everyone looked up to. And as the captain of the Wendywood High soccer team I definitely looked up him. He motivated me a lot.

David Kokoma… I’m a waiter at Newscafe in Woodmead where he would order a Salad and a lemonade. He was always smiling and very friendly.

Mandla Mahlangu… It’s a very disturbing and devastating situation. His death was untimely.
