Swift police action leads to arrests in N1 shooting
BUCCLEUCH - Two suspects were arrested in Buccleuch following a shootout with police.

@SAPoliceServices said two suspects were left by their accomplices following the shootout with police. They confirmed that the suspects were involved in a robbery in Kempton Park . Police seized an R5 rifle during the arrest, which occurred on Maxwell Drive.
Police said while two suspects had been arrested, others had fled the scene.
Emer-G-Med was attending to the scene and said they treated one suspect for soft-tissue injuries, no deaths were reported.
Emer-G-Med emergency services said the suspects robbed a cash-in-transit van in Glen Marais, Kempton Park. They fled the scene in a maroon Opel Corsa on the N1. According to the emergency response company, the police were alerted and a police helicopter was activated to chase the suspects. Emer-G-Med said the suspects started shooting at the police helicopter and police returned fire.
Emer-G-Med said the suspects then abandoned their vehicle and hijacked a woman in a black Jeep. From there, the suspects tried to flee but crashed 2m down the road and some suspects fled on foot.
Emer-G-Med said that police also recovered the money stolen in the robbery as well as the vehicle.
Traffic is delayed from both directions between Allandale Road and the Buccleuch inter-change.
