KFC dismisses rumours
BRYANSTON - KFC Bryanston opened its kitchen to the media to dispel all myths about how they make their famous chicken.

One of the biggest rumours about KFC is that their chicken is not real chicken and that it is genetically manipulated organism.
Operations director for KFC South Africa, Fourie Bornman dismissed the rumours. “We get our chickens from reputable suppliers,” explained Bornman.
“We use South African suppliers like Rainbow for our chickens. The chickens we get live on an enclosed farm and are not force fed. Their diet is formulated by vets, and we do not use steroids or any growth hormones on our chickens,” he added.
Bornman explained how the KFC chicken recipe is still one of the best kept secrets. “Only four people in the world know what ingredients are used. “The secret recipe is locked inside a vault and it is prepared the same way at all KFC’s around the world,” he added.
KFC also prides itself in its Add Hope campaign which was started and launched in South Africa. Bornman said the success of the campaign might see it being launched globally soon.
The KFC Add Hope campaign is the franchise’s national feeding initiative which runs annually. “This is how we give back,” said Bornman.
