Resident held at gunpoint in Bryanston
BRYANSTON - The Sandton police are investigating a case of robbery after a resident from Bryanston was allegedly held at gunpoint.
The incident allegedly took place in October at the Engen garage in Bryanston just after 8:30pm on a Monday.
According to the resident, who wishes to remain anonymous, the family had stopped at the garage to purchase a few items when the incident took place.
“As I was getting out to enter the store, a man approached me and pointed a firearm at me while my family looked on in the car,” the resident said.
The male allegedly took valuables from the family, including an iPhone and a handbag, before making off on a motorbike.
Captain Kym Cloete, spokesperson of the Sandton police, confirmed that a case of armed robbery was opened and the investigation into the matter continued.
