Impact of technology on businesses discussed
BRYANSTON - integrating businesses with technology, AccTech Systems recently hosted the ModernBIZ 2014 showcase in Bryanston.

The event was held in conjunction with Microsoft South Africa, world partners with AccTech since 2009, and included an address from Microsoft SA managing director Zoaib Hoosen.
Hoosen welcomed business owners and detailed Microsoft’s vision for business leaders and the technology road ahead, stressing the impact of new apps on businesses.
“It is important for businesses to realise the profound impact that apps have on their business; they can help customers get services easier than ever before,” he said.
For this reason, Hoosen added, businesses faced a disruption as the increasing use of these apps could potentially result in a loss of business.
He also stressed the need for businesses to digitise, so as to minimise the impact of software development, and to increase the competitive edge.
Also introduced to the audience was Yammer, a social media application, aimed at connecting users with other business people.
The app was also used to get feedback on the event, allowing audience members to comment and ask questions electronically.
Marc Gower, divisional director at AccTech, also made a presentation, highlighting the significance of service providers retaining their customers.
“Businesses that don’t value their customers, stand a good chance of losing that loyalty and that is something that can have a profound impact on that business,” he said.
Other topics touched upon included transforming customer channels, cloud and security and integrated business among others.
