Sandton police make breakthrough arrest

SANDTON - Sandton police made a breakthrough when a suspect with charges dating back to the early 2000s was arrested. The suspect was initially charged with housebreaking and theft and theft out of motor vehicle between 2001 and 2002.

According to Captain Kym Cloete, spokesperson of the Sandton police, the suspect was finally caught and arrested in Kaalfontein on 7 October.

“One of our detectives went to investigate an address to verify a specific address and upon investigation, discovered the suspect and managed to identify him,” she said.

Cloete added the suspect was set to appear at the Alexandra’s Magistrate’s court on 9 October on the two charges. The case continues.
