Sandton Fire Station revamp continues

SANDTON - The revamp of the Sandton Fire Station is ongoing.

Rawson Properties and Ward 91 councillor, Andrew Stewart continued with their complementary projects aimed at improving the station. The aim is to beautify the exterior of the station by cleaning up the flower beds and planting new plants along the border of the property.

“I decided to clean up the area because there was a petition from residents to improve the general state of the exterior of the station and make it look much better than it currently does,” said Stewart.

He added that it was also an opportunity to get the region involved and also get funding to maintain the project. To this end, workers of City Parks, community work projects and the regional team are involved in the project.

Director of Rawson Properties, Ben Cilliers said they decided to get involved because an area survey was done and it identified areas which residents wanted to see improved, including the exterior of the station.

He added that it was important for companies such as his to get involved in projects involving the community as it affected the way potential buyers view the area.

“We at Rawson feel that the better-looking an area is, the easier it will be for others to invest in,” he said.
